Sports Nutrition for Athletes
Athletes are always aiming to build muscle mass to enhance sport performance. A key to achieving its goals is to gain muscle absorption of calories appropriate for your exercise routine. Most competitive athletes know that not all calories are created equal so eating adequate calories is key to proper sports nutrition.
Carbohydrates for Sports Nutrition
Carbohydrates are the main source of energy for construction of muscle strength. Carbohydrates are stored as glycogen in muscles to provide energy for short, explosive bursts of exercise. The most hard training and more time, more carbohydrates your muscles need. If your stored are then drained glycogens feel a decrease in energy and it is very difficult to continue exercising. If you continue to work without any energy reserves, then the body begins to burn muscle fat instead of reducing its effective exercise. You can see why eating the right foods for good carbohydrates is important when building muscle lean through strength training.
Sports Nutrition Protein
To build muscle your body needs protein, because it is the fundamental building block for muscle tissue. The amount you exercise and body weight both play a factor in the amount of protein your body requires. You should consult a nutritionist or personal trainer to determine the proper absorption of the protein you need, but a general rule is about half a gram of protein per kilogram of average body mass of athletes. If you are serious about training and strength training 5 or more times a week you may want 0.6 0.8 grams of protein per pound of body weight.
Fat Burn
Although his ultimate goal is to burn fat and build muscles you need to include some fat in your diet to keep your body healthy. This helps your body burn fat and maintain muscle, combined with setting some leeway in your diet. You should aim for 25% of calories from unsaturated fats.
Sports Nutrition Hydration
Athletes require more than the standard eight glasses of water a day to replace fluids lost during intense training. It is a good idea to consume about a liter of water during training and 2 cups of water before and after your workout. This ensures that your body does not become dehydrated during a exercise routine to reduce the impact of their efforts.
Increase Energy with sports drinks
Protein bars and sports drinks (anything that ends in "ADE") are good for a great impetus to exercise more than an hour a day. If you workout twice a day or have an extended training then sports drinks are a great supplement for energy and hydration. It is best to save energy bar or some other foods rich in protein after your workout. Another option is a protein shake designed as a substitute for a meal, although this may be only an appetizer if you're pushing really hard. It is important to recharge your body after exercise, protein, carbohydrate and hydration for your body is full of fuel for the next period of intense sessions. This will help promote fat burning after your workout and supplement building muscle mass in future years.
Sports Nutrition Supplements
There are many nutritional supplements touted as the best, however, increasingly trained athletes should be aware that most of these products are gimmicks. Since nutritional supplements, including the sports nutritional supplements are not regulated by the FDA there is not much room to stretch the truth. Trainers seasoned force used some supplements including powdered Whey Protein, Creatine and fish oil.
Training creatine
Creatine is a supplement that helps the muscles to recover from a workout and is a good way to accelerate the building muscle when combined with a solid diet and exercise regiment. Creatine occurs naturally in some meats, but you can take about 5 grams per 5 days for an extra boost. It's a good idea to rotate the creatine to maximize the use of its effect in building muscle. Many athletes take it for 5 days after 5 days of rest and start using it again. Note that if you take creatine every day eventually lose its effectiveness.
Remember to always consult a registered dietitian, doctor or personal trainer for nutritional guidance.
